Underwater workers
Beavers can gnaw under water without swallowing water. They simply close off the part of the mouth behind their incisors. Very clever, isn’t it?
Thrown into cold water
Young beavers do not have to learn how to swim as they can do this from birth. However, at the beginning they are frightened of the water. When they are old enough, the mother simply pushes them into the cold water, which is a way of showing them that they do not have to be frightened of it.
